El Burro appears to be alone in the desert as the sun fades. This burro is not alone! This well treated fellow is waiting patiently for the one he loves to take him home for his supper.
We took a trip to Mexico in the summer of 2007. El Burro is inspired by pictures taken of a donkey and his compadres while driving just outside Dolores Hidalgo, travelling to Guanajuato.
Alone in the desert as the sun fades. No, not this burro! He is waiting patiently for the one he loves to take him home for his supper. Do we all not find ourselves in this situation - tied up to what was once wonderful. But now doubting its beauty.
